Here a viszla, there a viszla, everywhere a viszla
In the last week, we've met three more viszla's at the park. Katie says there must be about 10 now. There's H who is huge, and a "European Standard." A little eight-week old baby the weekend before last. I tried to play with him, but everyone got nervous. Then there was another little puppy last weekend, I. She was bigger so we played a little, but everyone seemed rather concerned.

Water and Fire
It's another tornado warning day, so Joe and I went out for a good long walk. There was a giant puddle so K and I ran around and wrestled in it. I got a cramp in my leg and upset Joe. I was playing and then I had to lay down and whimper. Finally it stopped and K and I ran around again. K has stripes just like me. Actually, not just like me, the opposite of me.
Last night on our last walk around the block, there was a fire in a trash can by the school.

Computer and other random notes
Computers really aren't that great. I've sniffed and stepped on the laptops and there's just not that much to them. I might try eating one when the people aren't around, but they haven't been as compelling as tupperware. It's really annoying how Katie sits on the floor with hers and I get yelled at if I touch it.
We went to the park today and there were some other good dogs there. We played ball, chase, and wrestle until everyone was soaked in the rain and it was time to go home. I got a bath later. We might go to the bay, which is sort of like going to the beach, some time. Another person told us about a place dogs can go. Katie and Joe seem to think it's a good idea. We were supposed to go to the beach in Rhode Island, but only they went, because dogs aren't allowed until October.

Morning Walk
A tree dropped a branch in front of my face this morning! It landed in front of us with a thud. It's a good thing it wasn't a big one.

Trash Trucks
Metro busses are so last week. I will henceforth be dedicating all of my energy to the pursuit of trash trucks.

Bed
It's really cool how Joe straightens out my bedding every night so I can push it around into just the right shape to suit my mood.

Another Rhode Island Story
I forgot to tell you about the bees and the toads. In Rhode Island there are lots of toads in the grass. You can sniff around and they jump. They're about the size of a quarter. I tried one, but it wasn't very good. I recommend that you just sniff at them and make them jump around.
I wandered into the woods and a bee came after me. I had been having a good time going through the brush. There were ferns you could walk in and not get yelled at. After a while, I must've gotten further away, because you couldn't really see the house and Katie was yelling at me. I ignored her. Then this bee came after me, and it was buzzing all around my face. I ran away but I was trying to get it too and so I had to run in circles. It kept landing on me. Katie must've thought it was a good game too. She swatted the bee off me. Then she yelled, and I would've thought she was mad, but she took off running and told me to run too. So, we took off around the back and to the front yard and it was great fun. I'm pretty sure she had fun too.
Oh, another good thing about Rhode Island is nobody watches you doing your business, and they leave it alone when you're done.

Puzzles
This morning Katie put my leash and her pack into a plastic container with a pink lid and then put it in the basket by the front door. I know, because I watched her. I was wondering why, so I pulled it out. I was a little surprised when my tooth went through the plastic. When I pull my other toys out, that doesn't happen. The plastic box isn't a very good toy. I'm sure it's mine, since it has my stuff in it. Once I got the lid off, I chewed on it, but it's very brittle. I opened the pack and pulled out all the stuff. There was a plastic bag with dog treats in it, so I think this is supposed to be a game like my kong.
Katie seemed pretty put out when she got home, but it's my stuff, so I don't know what her problem is.

Things I liked about Rhode Island
Katie and Joe took me to Rhode Island. At first, I didn't know what was happening. We got in the car, but didn't go to the park. Then, it got dark and we kept going and going. We went through a toll booth, but nobody warned me, so I woke up from a nap in the back seat to somebody reaching in the window. Give a person a shock! Later we stopped and Joe and Katie disappeared for a while, but came back with food. That was an encouraging development. I got some water, and Katie made disparaging comments about the food. I would've felt bad, except, guess, what. I didn't have any food! They forgot to feed me! I took it pretty well though all things considered. Finally the trip was over and we went to bed at about 4 in the morning. The next morning Joe's parents were there.
I'm not going to write about everything at once. I know the suspense is horrible, so I'll just let you know a few things I liked about Rhode Island:
1) No leash - they have a big yard and you can go right out the door
2) People to let you in and out - I was constantly going inside and outside.
3) Lots of visitors - they said it was Jessica's party, but I know people came to see me. After all, I almost got to eat from the table.
4) People pay attention to you all the time - Joe's parents are very hospitable.

Back from Rhode Island
Did I mention we were going to Rhode Island? No. Oh, well, we're back. I'll tell you about the trip later. Right now, what's important to know is that we're back and once again the people are leaving me home by myself all day. I was getting used to the 24/7 company in Rhode Island. Last night after we got home, Joe and Katie left a thing of treats on the table, and chocolate and other good stuff, which I ate while they went out to get food. So, today I checked to see if there was anything else up there, but all there was were some plastic cups. Not cool. I was so happy to see them when they got home, I could hardly contain myself. I guess tomorrow they'll be leaving me again.
