Spring Time
Winter seems to be over. The squirrels are back, and there are so many things to smell. People must not have very good noses. They are always in a hurry to pass by the most interesting things. Last night I found four things to eat in just one block. The only bad thing is that motorcycles are back as well, but I haven't seen to many of those.
Katie's parents were here over the weekend. Katie's mom always brings me treats. It's great, because she brings me more treats than Katie and Joe does. They hoard them in the refrigerator. I've been getting some more treats lately, because Katie is obsessed with yelling come at me lately. I come back when I've smelled treats, and ignore her when I don't.
There are giant puddles at the cemetery. It's great. yesterday morning J was running back and forth in this puddle that was only twice as long as he was with his mouth hanging open. It looked like there must be something good there so a bunch of us went to check it out and he had to go to a different puddle. That just must be his thing to do, because he did it at the other puddle as well.

Signs of spring
More squirrels. And another motorcycle. Then three of those horrible, funny shaped orange trucks with brushes that make horrible noises. I really don't like those.
Almost got a cat, but it was on the other side of a fence.

Police Dogs
Being a police dog must not be the most appreciated line of work, if little girls have to raise money to get you bullet proof vests. Who knew dogs had bullet proof vests? It probably beats being dressed up as a fireman.

Squirrels!
The squirrels are back. On our way to the cemetery, I smelled squirrel. I was very excited and trying to follow it, but Katie claimed it was long gone and pulled me away. I have to say, the cemetery was not well attended today. There was no one I particularly felt like playing with, except two other dogs that were leaving, and then o. and he got called away, because his owner was jogging. I almost got to play with a cattle heeler mix, but then we had to go. On the way home though, I found the squirrel. It was probably the same squirrel. It was up in a tree, and I tried to reach it, but I'm not tall enough and I don't climb trees.

Sunday Morning
I'm trying to lick Katie's cut, and she won't let me. It's very frustrating, because anyone with sense knows that when you have cuts you need to lick them. I'm also frustrated because I've been up forever and no one else is really up. Katie let me out back for a few minutes, but Joe is still in bed so it'll be forever before we go for my walk.
I did get a treat though! Peanut butter kong.
Last week Jody came over for dinner. I chewed on him. It was good. I like visitors. I got a pigs ear. Katie and Joe used the dishwasher. I've never heard the dishwasher before. It was weird. The next morning there were loud birds in the sky. Geese. They make a lot of noise.
Katie climbed over a fence at the cemetery to get another dog. The other dogs owner was very upset and calling to her. We didn't see what the problem was. Katie was bleeding and had a napkin in her hand. I hadn't really noticed it unto K. came over and he tried to get it from her. K is one of my best buddies. We play a lot. But, Katie had put me on my leash, even if I wasn't the one under the fence, and we couldn't play. I thought if anyone should get whatever Katie has, it should be me.
There are cats on the hot tub.

Coffee Table
Hm, I can fit under the coffee table. I've never tried sitting there before. My head doesn't really fit, but maybe I can get crumbs this way. Maybe Katie has yogurt. I don't smell yogurt, but you never know. I went under the table last weekend to get my ball and it wasn't so bad as I thought.

Bathtubs
I have a new routine in the morning, where Katie gets her shower ready and then gives me some of the warm water to drink. I like to drink it, because it's from some where else. Also, it is warm, which is different. Sometimes if Katie takes a bath she washes my face. I don't think she understands that all I really want to do is lick the towel.

Blowing in the Wind
Last night it was so windy it made my ears stand out. It was very cold. I don't like the wind flipping my ears around. It's one thing when they're inside out, but quite another to have them flapping around like a kite. By the time we got to the park, I'd had enough. When we got to the road to the gate house I started to head back home. Joe didn't get the point, and seemed to really want to be out in the wind, so I followed him and walked around some more. But, when we got to the next path towards the gate, I started to head back. Joe still didn't get it. So, we kept going, but finally when we got to the road at the bottom of the hill and I headed back up that way even though we hardly ever use that road any more, then he finally got the point and we went home.

Morning Walk
Crossing Pennsylvania Avenue on the way home from the cemetery, there was a woman with her kids that we see fairly often. She said "Oh, I haven't seen you in a few days." Then she said I was very handsome. She said she could play with me all day. That sounded good. I thought, "maybe she'd take my collar off. I don't like this collar on my face." I rubbed against her legs and hoped she'd take it off, but then she said good bye and went away.
