D0g-ma
Today I went to Dog-ma. That was fun. It started off as an odd day, with no walk, but going and seeing all the other dogs playing made up for it. We ran around. It was really hot out. When Katie came to get me, I was still excited to see her though. I heard her talking to someone and I ran over, but she didn't notice right away. She was on the other side of the fence, and I thought I might have to bark, but then she saw me. We went home. She got a towel out, and that was nice, but then we went downstairs and I don't know what her crazy idea was that I would want to go in the shower, but she pushed me in and sprayed my belly with cold water. I have to admit, that it was a little nice, but I don't like to be in the shower. We did play the towel game some more though.
Boy, am I tired.

Chair
The people noticed that a chair has been chewed on. Just a little bit, I don't personally see what the fuss is about. They seem to ascribe this state to me. I don't remember chewing on any chair, nad I don't see why they should jump to the conclussion that I was the one who did it. There are three of us with teeth in the pack.

So Far, So Good..
Katie and Joe left an extra dinner out for me, or so it seemed. It's sort of strange that they would have left it on plates on the kitchen counter, but whatever. Sandwiches. Sandwiches are odd food. There are layers of different things. My food usually comes in chunks that all taste the same. One sandwich had hot crunchy things on it, and the other didn't. I made sure to eat the meat and cheese first, which was good, because when Joe came up from the basement he didn't seem very happy that I ate the food. They weren't eating it. He was pretty angry really, so I went upstairs to get away, but when I went into the front room Katie blocked me and turned me around (I really don't like when people think they can switch you around, just because they're bigger than you) and sent me back. I had to stay in the dining room for a while, which wasn't so bad since I needed to digest. I really don't see what the big deal was.
Today was an "air out the house day," so the front gate was open. Joe was doing stuff in the basement. A lady came to visit me. She pet me through the gate and sat there and talked to me for a really long time. I know it was my very own visitor, because when Joe came up he said hello to her, but kept doing other things. After a while, I wanted to see what Joe was doing, so I followed him around. Then I went back to the door, and the lady was still sitting there talking, so I sat back down and got petted some more.

Weekend Update
Found another turtle. This one was much smaller than the last one. I think Katie and Joe scared it. I was sneaking up on it, and they started yelling my name and the turtle put all of its legs and head in its shell. That's a pretty neat trick the way it mostly disappears like that.
Sunday they grilled and had me stay outside, when I didn't want to. There was meat and cake in the kitchen, and it was much cooler inside. Why would I want to go out? People are very silly about the heat. It was not nice outside. After being out for a while, Joe wanted to go for a walk. It took a lot of effort to convince him that I didn't want to go on a long walk, but finally he got the message.

Squirrel
I almost got a squirrel this morning. We were about three paces away, the squirrel hadn't even looked over it's shoulder yet. I could have had it. But, I had the leash on and Katie said it was either the stupidest squirrel on earth or it has rabies and wouldn't let me get any closer. I think it was meant to be mine.

Someone was here...
Someone was here. I know they were. I could hear them, and I can smell them. I was in the back yard. Locked out. I'd been trying to get back inside. I don't know why Katie put me outside anyway. I know she heard me pawing at the door. I can be certain, because she opened the door, pet me, and then pulled the gate shut and closed that too. The other person was only here a few minutes, and then gone. I barked once, a little, but it was pointless. I really don't like people being here and I don't know who they are.

Visitors
A couple of extra people have come over in the last week or so that don't pay very much attention to me. I don't see why not. One person waived his hands around a lot, and I thought it was a game. Or maybe I thought he should stop? I don't really remember. Joe seemed to think that we should go down to the basement and watch TV instead of get his attention. I didn't think much of that plan so I ran up the stairs, through the dog door, and back to the dining room. Everyone seemed a bit taken aback. Another time I had to go outside. I pawed at the door to come back in, but it didn't help.
At least this morning we had a visitor for me. I know it was for me, because it was the teacher from my class. He came last weekend, too. This did seem to involve a lesson though. We sat on the corner and watched cars. It was an odd lesson, but I like watching the cars so that's fine, maybe it wasn't a lesson and we were just hanging out. I think it was a lesson though, because it involved lots of sitting, staying, and getting tugged on when I didn't. He brought Katie and Joe a present from when I passed the course we took and passed my Canine Good Citizenship test. It's a picture of the three of us. They say I look very nice. Anyway, this was a much better visit than the past few.

Classes
Other dogs get swimming classes and dance classes. I get sit and stay and come classes. I don't even know what Saturday's class was. Sit on the corner class I guess.

4th of July
We had a long stretch of no going to work days. On Saturday we went to Katie's parents and visited Penny. Roberta and Jeff, and Diane and Ed were there too. Penny and I played all the time. It was great. She didn't want me touching her toys, which was fine, or her bone, which I chewed on when she wasn't looking. Roberta gave us treats. Sometimes she acted like she was going to give us treats, but didn't have any. That was less nice. Katie and Joe had a futon to sleep on. I'm allowed on futons, so I tried to sleep on it too. For some reason, we had to pretend that this futon was a bed and I wasn't allowed on it. Whenever I could, I would sit on it instead of the floor.
We came home on Sunday, and Joe was very busy and Katie was gone for the day. After having so many people to hang out with, that was a let down. Also, there were lots of fireworks.
Monday there were many people again though. It was the 4th of July. All the people almost makes up for it being the worst day of the year. I got some pieces of hot dog that Aden dropped, and Jody played with me. There were people to bark at. I didn't like the fireworks though. Everyone left, and then there were even more fireworks. They left the door open to the basement, and I remembered that you don't hear the fireworks in the basement, so I went down there. Oh, I didn't get a walk in the evening, or to go off leash in the morning. The morning was a weird walk. We went to a parade. There were people with drums, and trash cans, and a fire truck. I barked at them. The bagpipe player was okay though. There were two bands. I saw some other dogs from the cemetery. Then we walked home. I had hoped to go to the cemetery, but it was closed. After Katie and Joe got home in the evening, they wanted me to go outside again. I thought they were crazy. There were explosions everywhere. Katie got some cheese out of the refridgerator, and I really wanted some. She went outside with it, which was obnoxious. I followed her and she'd give me some, over and over, so I did that until the cheese ran out, then I ran back inside. We went to bed after that.
