Cats
There are two cats that come into the backyard. A short-haired, grey and white cat, and a long-haired, black cat. On Friday, Katie was home and I was napping. She went downstairs and then she called to me. I was half-asleep so I didn't know what she wanted. I got a drink of water since I was down there and she kept pointing at the door. Then, I saw them. Those two cats were sleeping on the back deck again! I watched them. One got up and licked the other. Katie got the key. I sat there staring at them, and they were very still. Katie stuck the key in the door and turned it very slowly. They must have thought they heard something, since they lifted their heads up. She pulled the door open and I sat in front of the screened gate door. I could smell them. I don't think they smelled me yet. The gate door always sticks when it opens, and it's loud. Katie turned the key quietly, but then it needs a big push to open and it made noise and the cats took off running. Katie pushed the door open quickly, and I took off running, but they were gone. One went to the neighbors deck and one down the stairs. I followed the grey one down the stairs, but before I got to the bottom he was already under the fence and into the other neighbors yard.
